These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the ROVI mobile application ("ROVI", "the app", "our app") operated by Vinh Ly ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using ROVI, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use ROVI.
Back to topYour use of ROVI is governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data, including health and fitness information. The Privacy Policy is the primary document for understanding your rights under the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to access your personal data, correct inaccurate data, request deletion of your data, restrict processing, receive a copy of your data in a portable format, and object to processing. Please review the Privacy Policy for full details on exercising these rights.
Back to topYou must be at least 13 years old to use ROVI. If you are between 13 and 15 years old, you must have your parent or guardian's consent to use the app and they must agree to these Terms on your behalf. Users aged 13 to 17 are considered minors and their parents or guardians should review these Terms.
Parental consent for users aged 13 to 15: Your parent or guardian must review and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy before you use ROVI. Parents and guardians may request access to their child's account data, request deletion of their child's account, or submit complaints on their child's behalf by contacting us at support@rovi-app.com.
By using ROVI, you represent and warrant that you meet these age requirements.
Back to topTo use ROVI, you must create an account using one of the following methods: email and password, Sign in with Apple, or Sign in with Google.
You are responsible for providing accurate and complete information during registration, maintaining the security of your account credentials, all activity that occurs under your account, and notifying us immediately if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Back to topROVI is a personal health, fitness, and nutrition tracking application that provides food and nutrition logging with calorie and macronutrient tracking, activity and exercise logging (including GPS-tracked activities), step counting (via integration with Apple HealthKit or Google Health Connect), weight tracking and trend analysis, an AI-powered chatbot for nutrition guidance and food logging assistance, social features including an activity feed, leaderboard, and friend connections, recipe management and fridge inventory tracking, progress tracking with badges, streaks, and quests to keep you motivated, menstrual cycle tracking (optional), and workout logging with exercise details.

The information provided by ROVI, including but not limited to calorie estimates, nutritional information, activity metrics, step counts, AI chatbot responses, and any health-related guidance, is for informational and general wellness purposes only.
You acknowledge and agree that ROVI does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Nutritional information and calorie estimates are approximations and may not be accurate for your specific circumstances. AI chatbot responses are generated by artificial intelligence and may contain errors or inaccuracies. You should not rely solely on ROVI for any health-related decisions. You should consult a qualified healthcare professional, registered dietitian, or other appropriate professional before making any changes to your diet, exercise routine, or health practices. You should seek immediate medical attention for any medical emergencies, and should not delay seeking medical advice because of information provided by ROVI. ROVI is not designed to treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition.
Additional warnings for specific groups:
If you have or suspect you have an eating disorder (such as anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, or orthorexia), calorie-tracking and nutrition features may not be appropriate for you. Please seek professional support and consult a healthcare provider before using these features.
If you have a medical condition requiring a specialised diet (such as diabetes, coeliac disease, kidney disease, or cardiovascular disease), consult your healthcare provider or registered dietitian before using ROVI for nutritional guidance.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your healthcare provider before relying on ROVI's calorie or nutrition estimates, as your nutritional requirements are substantially different during these periods.
If you are under medical supervision for weight management, eating, or exercise, inform your healthcare provider that you are using ROVI.
We expressly disclaim any and all liability arising from your reliance on information provided by ROVI, except where such liability cannot be excluded under applicable law (see Section 14).
The menstrual cycle tracking feature provides estimates based on typical patterns and is not reliable for contraception or pregnancy prevention, medical diagnosis of cycle disorders, or users with irregular cycles, PCOS, hormonal contraception, or perimenopause. Do not rely on cycle predictions for medical decisions. Consult a healthcare provider for medical concerns related to menstrual health.
Back to topROVI includes an AI-powered chatbot that uses Anthropic's Claude AI service. When you use the chatbot:
Your messages and relevant health data (such as your food logs, activity data, and health metrics) are sent to Anthropic's servers to generate responses. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
The chatbot may search the web for restaurant menu information when you mention specific restaurants, to provide more accurate nutritional estimates. This happens automatically.
Chatbot responses are generated by artificial intelligence and are not reviewed by a human. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate.
The chatbot does not provide medical advice. Any nutrition or health-related guidance from the chatbot is for general informational purposes only.
You should not share sensitive personal information (such as financial details, government identification numbers, or passwords) with the chatbot.
By using the chatbot, you agree to comply with Anthropic's Acceptable Use Policy (available at https://www.anthropic.com/legal/acceptable-use-policy). Prohibited uses include illegal activity, abuse, deception, fraud, generating content that sexualises minors, or any use that violates applicable law. Violation may result in suspension or termination of your account.
The licence granted in Section 8 (User Content) permits us to process chatbot messages using Anthropic's AI service. Anthropic's use of your data is governed by their terms. See our Privacy Policy for details on how chatbot messages are handled.
Reporting harmful chatbot responses: If the chatbot provides a response that you believe is medically dangerous, inaccurate, or harmful, please report it immediately to support@rovi-app.com with a screenshot of the response, context about what you asked, and why you believe it is harmful. We will review the report and may take action including removing the response or modifying the chatbot's behaviour. In a health emergency, call 999 (UK) or your local emergency number immediately — do not rely on the chatbot.
Back to top"User Content" means any content you create, upload, or share through ROVI, including profile photographs, activity photographs, food photographs, social feed posts, chatbot messages, food log entries, and any other content you submit.
You retain ownership of your User Content. By submitting User Content to ROVI, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, store, display, and process your User Content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the ROVI app and its features. This licence exists only for as long as your account is active and ends when your User Content is deleted.
You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to submit your User Content, your User Content does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party, and your User Content does not contain unlawful, defamatory, or objectionable material.
We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms.
Back to topROVI includes social features that allow you to share activity with other users, participate in leaderboards, and interact with friends. When using these features, you agree not to harass, bully, intimidate, or threaten other users, post content that is obscene, offensive, discriminatory, or hateful, impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity, use the social features for spam, advertising, or solicitation, attempt to manipulate leaderboards, badges, or achievements through fraudulent means, share another person's personal information without their consent, or use ROVI for any unlawful purpose.
When you log GPS-tracked activities and share them via the activity feed or leaderboard, your location data (including start and end points and routes) may be visible to other users on your friends list or leaderboard. Consider whether you are comfortable sharing the locations where you exercise. You can disable social sharing of specific activities or adjust your visibility in Settings > Privacy.
We reserve the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, at our sole discretion.
Back to topROVI integrates with Apple HealthKit and Google Health Connect to retrieve step counts and workout data, and to write menstrual cycle data back to your health platform to keep your records synchronised across apps. We will only request permission to access the specific data types needed. Your explicit consent is required before ROVI can read from or write to HealthKit or Health Connect. You can revoke ROVI's access at any time via your device settings: on iOS, go to Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices > ROVI; on Android, go to Settings > Health Connect > App Permissions > ROVI. Revoking access does not delete data already stored in ROVI; you can delete stored health data via Settings > Privacy & Data or by deleting your account.
Back to topROVI, including its design, code, features, logos, and branding, is owned by us and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the ROVI app, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app, use our trademarks, logos, or branding without our prior written consent, create derivative works based on ROVI, or use automated systems (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access or interact with ROVI.
Back to topROVI integrates with third-party services including Firebase (Google), Anthropic (Claude AI), Apple HealthKit, Google Health Connect, Apple Sign-In, Google Sign-In, Open Food Facts (food and nutrition database), CARTO (map tile provider), and your device's speech recognition service (Apple Speech on iOS, Google Speech Services on Android). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices or policies of third-party services.
Back to topYou can delete your ROVI account at any time through the app via Settings > Account > Delete Account.
Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. When you delete your account, all of your personal data, health data, food logs, activity logs, photos, conversations, social connections, and profile information will be permanently deleted. Your data will be removed from all of our systems within 30 days. Your posts and interactions will be removed from other users' feeds. This action cannot be undone and your data cannot be recovered.
You can also export your data before deleting your account via Settings > Privacy & Data > Export My Data.
Back to topROVI offers a paid Pro subscription with two billing options:
Both plans include a 30-day free trial for new subscribers. After the trial, the subscription auto-renews at the prices above unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Apple handles all billing.
To manage or cancel your subscription, go to: iPhone Settings → [your Apple ID] → Subscriptions → ROVI. Cancellations apply at the end of the current billing period; partial-month refunds are subject to Apple's standard refund policy. We do not handle refunds directly — contact Apple Support.
Subscription state is managed by RevenueCat (a US-based processor — see Privacy Policy Section 8 for details).
Back to topWe aim to keep ROVI available and functioning, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may modify, update, or discontinue features of the app at any time, perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability, or discontinue ROVI entirely, with reasonable notice where possible.
We are not liable for any service interruptions, data loss, or unavailability caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, war, terrorism, cyber attacks, pandemics, government action, power outages, internet infrastructure failures, or failure of third-party services including Firebase, Anthropic, Apple, or Google.
Back to topTo the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ROVI is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. We disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of ROVI. Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising from or related to your use of ROVI shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, while ROVI is free, is zero).
We are not liable for any health outcomes, injuries, or medical conditions that may result from your use of or reliance on information provided by ROVI, except where such outcomes are caused by our gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (c) any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Back to topYou agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising directly from your violation of these Terms or unlawful content you create and share through ROVI's social features. You shall not be required to indemnify us for claims arising from our negligence, breach of duty, or violation of law.
Back to topIf you have a complaint about ROVI, please contact us at support@rovi-app.com with a clear description of the issue, screenshots or evidence if applicable, and the resolution you are seeking. We aim to respond within 14 days and resolve the matter amicably.
If you remain dissatisfied after our response, you may escalate the complaint to the relevant UK consumer dispute resolution scheme. Nothing in these Terms prevents you from raising a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) regarding data handling or with your national consumer protection authority.
Back to topWe may suspend or terminate your access to ROVI immediately and without notice if you violate these Terms in a material way (such as harassment, unlawful content, fraud, or repeated violations after warning). We may also terminate your access with 30 days' notice if we decide to discontinue ROVI entirely, or immediately if required by law or court order.
You may stop using ROVI at any time by deleting your account.
Upon termination, your right to use ROVI ceases immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including but not limited to the Health Disclaimer, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, and Governing Law sections.
Back to topWe may update these Terms from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this document.
If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app. Your continued use of ROVI after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using ROVI and delete your account.
Back to topThese Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of ROVI shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under UK consumer protection law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Back to topIf any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
Back to topThese Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding your use of ROVI, and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
